Saskatchewan Chapter News

Staffing for Canada week is June 3rd – 9th, 2018

 A MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER

On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, I am pleased to extend greetings to all members of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services (ACSESS) as you observe Staffing for Canada Week 2018.

“Putting Canadians to Work/Au Travail” is this year’s motto by the staffing industry. Their goal is to ensure that the experience and skills of the employees are suited with the business requirements of their clients. A strong and stable economy is based on a labour force that is well-trained and highly-educated. Temporary and contract employees are valuable for businesses in order to achieve their goals; thus, contributing to the province’s success and prosperity.

ACSESS enables hundreds of thousands of Canadians to obtain employment every year. In our ever-changing economy, this is an important service benefitting employees and companies.

Best wishes for a successful Staffing for Canada Week celebration.

The Honourable Scott Moe

Dear Saskatchewan members,

The Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety published a consultation paper last month as part of government's review of employment and labour legislation in the province. Part of this review includes proposed changes and improvements to the Employment Agencies Act. ACSESS has prepared a draft submission (click here) which will be presented to the Director of Policy next week in advance of July 31st deadline.

I would invite you to review our recommendations and provide me with your feedback, comments prior to release.

Thank you!
