We are excited to once again be hosting Todd Hirsch, Chief Economist, ATB Financial join us at our first ACSESS event of 2018 to provide us with his unique and interesting perspective of the economic outlook for the year ahead. Todd Hirsch, Chief Economist, ATB Financial
Todd Hirsch is ATB Financial's Chief Economist. He holds a BA Honours in Economics from the University of Alberta and an MA in Economics from the University of Calgary. For over 20 years he has worked as an economist at several different companies including Canadian Pacific Railway, the Canada West Foundation and the Bank of Canada. For almost a decade, Todd taught economics at the U of C. Todd provides economic commentary for CBC, CTV, The Globe and Mail, the BBC and other local, national and international news outlets. He has been recognized as one of Alberta's 50 Most Influential People by Alberta Venture magazine. In August 2013, Todd was appointed chair of the Premier's Council on Culture. A sought after speaker, Todd presents to over 250 groups a year in Alberta, across Canada and internationally. In February 2012, Todd released his first book titled, The Boiling Frog Dilemma: Saving Canada from Economic Decline, co-authored by his long-standing friend and colleague Robert Roach. Todd released two books in 2017 – "Spiders in Space. Successfully Adapting To Unwanted Change." Also co-authored with Robert Roach. He also published, "Halfway Home. Fifty Chapters In Fifty Years."
