ACSESS Legal Session: Legalization of Marijuana Webinar

What does the legalization of marijuana mean for Canadian workplaces? While legalization may currently be the more prevalent media topic, the more challenging topic for employers to effectively address is medical marijuana. This webinar will discuss the meaning of “medical marijuana”, its impact on the workplace, an employer’s (sometimes conflicting) duties to accommodate and to provide a safe work environment and employees’ obligations to attend work fit for duty. A refresher on the duty to accommodate disabilities, including drug and alcohol addictions, pursuant to human rights legislation will be included.
