ACSESS BC Chapter Legal Session: How Marijuana Legalization Will Affect the Workplace
ACSESS Vancouver Chapter Presents:
How Marijuana Legalization Will Affect the Workplace
Summary of Presentation:
Leading up to October, there had been much talk around how the legal, social and political landscape of Canada is changing as the purchase of recreational cannabis becomes legal. Companies must ensure that they are aware, diligent and proactive with regards to workplace impacts and the responsibility of employers. At the presentation, we will briefly review the state of the law with regards to medical and recreational marijuana and the recent changes made. Further, we will explore the impacts legalization will have on the workplace including employers’ rights and employees’ obligations and discuss best practices and strategies for organizations providing recruitment and/or temporary staffing services.
